A New and Healthier Approach to Social Media and Self Care
Cathy MacRae is a multi-talented entrepreneur with a passion for teaching and wedding planning. With over 15 years of experience as a public school teacher, Cathy made a bold move and transitioned to the wedding planning industry in 2008, starting her own business, Creative Weddings Planning & Design. Through hard work and determination, Cathy quickly grew her business, specializing in weddings in Calgary, Canada, and the nearby Canadian Rocky Mountain communities of Banff, Canmore, and Lake Louise, attracting clients from around the world.
Recently, Cathy's passion for teaching resurfaced, and she established Someday Consulting, where she uses her vast knowledge and experience to help creative professionals build their brand, develop effective marketing techniques, while at the same time working to reduce the overwhelm of social media. She shows wedding professionals, small business owners and entrepreneurs how to put productive habits and boundaries in place so social media does not take over their lives. She has been featured at local workshops and international conferences, sharing insights on social media tips, digital marketing strategies, branding, and pairing social media with self-care.
Cathy's dedication to the wedding planning industry extends beyond her business as she serves as the Director of Operations for the Alberta International Band Festival and the Country Coordinator for Canada with the Association of Bridal Consultants, as well as their Social Media Manager. She earned her Master Wedding Planner™ designation in November, 2022.
When Cathy is not teaching or planning weddings, she enjoys travelling the world, reading books with her beloved bischon-shitzu (Jazzy), and indulging in good food and wine with friends and family.
Cathy is not your average entrepreneur, and her unique blend of teaching and wedding planning expertise has helped countless individuals achieve their business goals.
